Average quality for Chinese made inexpensive tools, but ANY carbide edged chisel is a real bargain at this price. I've used it, along with other tools, for quite a few hours now on a smaller slab of granite that I'm carving, and it definitely does the job-without quickly dulling as a softer chisel does. The handle stock is a soft enough steel to absorb some of the vibration from striking it with a metal hammer. However, the brazed-in carbide slug is quite small, so any chipping of the carbide would do serious damage to it, so don't use this for heavy work if you have alternate ones that are more robust, or with a too-heavy hammer, or store it unprotected and free to move around with your other metal chisels.
