One or 2 uses of this tool on both wheels of a bench grinder will pay for it, from the reduced chatter and vibration while grinding that allows better control while grinding/sharpening afterwards. I wouldn't recommend this to do a lot of reshaping to a badly nicked wheel coarser than 36 grit, but for dressing a normally rounded or grooved one down to 36 grit [which is the coarse wheel on my grinder]it seems to work well. If you're used to using one of the large, multi-wheeled cast iron handled dressers, this requires an entirely different technique, and needs only a VERY light touch to do it's job.
